Dr. Ronald E. Ramsey
Spiritual Director, Author, Pastor and Poet
Dr. Ronald E. Ramsey is currently Rector of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Arlington, MA. He holds a Doctor of Ministry degree from Trinity Lutheran Seminary, Columbus, Ohio, a Master of Public Administration from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, a Master of Divinity degree from Morehouse School of Religion - ITC, Atlanta, a Graduate Certificate from the Episcopal Divinity School, Cambridge and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Warner Southern College, Lake Wales, Florida.
He has served as an Associate Rector, Trinity Church, Copley Square; Associate for Pastoral Care, St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church, Cambridge, MA; Minister of Religious Education, Second Baptist Church, Columbus, Ohio; and Pastor of the Second Community Church, Columbus, Ohio.
As a minister, he has preached for over 30 years in the Christian tradition. He has been ordained for more than 25 years with 22 years of pastoral experience. In addition, Dr. Ramsey has experience as a Business Coach, Management Consultant and Human Resources Consultant serving in both retail and community development arenas.
He has served on the Board of Directors of Morehouse School of Religion, the Corporation Board of Cambridge Family and Children’s Services, the Board of Directors of Camp St. Augustine, the Diocesan Council of the Diocese of Massachusetts, the Commission on Ministry of the Diocese of Massachusetts, the Diocesan Millennium Committee, the Board of Youth Services for the Town of Arlington, the Executive Board of the Episcopal City Mission, the Board of Trustees of the Pelham Fund for Economic Justice and as President of the Morehouse School of Religion Alumni Association.
He now serves the Diocese of Massachusetts as a Member of the Public Policy Advisory Committee of the Episcopal City Mission.
Dr. Ramsey is a member of Spiritual Directors International.
